Nintendo News Summit: We’re Still Afraid Of Blood

February 24, 2010

The new trailer for Super Mario Galaxy 2

Nintendo held a press conference today and dropped a nice Hot Karl of news onto our chests.  The big news, which old school gamers had been awaiting since last year’s E3, is that Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be released on May 23.  Metroid: Other M, a new look on Samus’ adventures, will drop from the loins of Nintendo on June 27.

Adding to the day’s news:

The Nintendo DSiXL, which boasts a bigger screen, will be available starting March 28.

Mega Man 10, a new “old school” Mega Man game, will be available for download on WiiWare on March 1.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinel of the Starry Skies, will see release on the Wii

Pretty much all of the other news consisted of items only 8 year old girls and gaming grandparents would appreciate

Throwback: ToeJam & Earl

February 22, 2010

TJ&E

ToeJam & Earl was originally released on the Sega Genesis in 1991. It also happens to be one of the most mental games I have ever played!  I recently started replaying the game on the Virtual Console (which you can too download for 800 Wii points) and its still a blast. The point of this dungeon-crawling game is to find all the pieces of their spacecraft  that have been wrecked, so they can get back to their home planet: Funkotron. (more…)

Zelda News

January 22, 2010

(and remember you potentially heard it here first!)

The Legend of Zelda

When talking to one of my friends (a Nintendo rep), he recently he told me the next Zelda game may be a collaboration with another developer–much like what they’re doing with Metroid: Other M and Team Ninja. Now I couldn’t get him to spit (or swallow) too much out, like if this was for the next Legend of Zelda or a following game. Either way it could just all be rumor or an idea they have floating around.

Still, I’m wondering what ya guys think, or who’d you like to see Nintendo team up with for a Zelda game?
