BFG: Bullshit Fucking Game
It’s Sunday morning before football and the baby just went down for her nap. I’m not doing any more fucking yard work, or cleaning, or watching crap TV shows with the misses. That can mean only one thing: sweet, delicious video game pleasures time. And this past Sunday, it was time to play some Doom 3 BFG online coop with Tone.
To provide some back story, some of the best times I’ve have been gaming with my good buddy Tone and it all started on the original Xbox. One of the games we enjoyed the most was Doom 3. We would play online coop, I would throw my controller when I got scared shitless, then bail after playing for 30 min because I was so freaked out. Needless to say, I was looking forward to reliving the good ol days with my buddy, updated graphics in tow.
As you can imagine, something was amiss. For the sake of brevity, I’ll sum it up: THE GAME DOESN’T HAVE ANY COOP!!! Now the back of the box says there’s coop, but after 20 minutes, neither Tone or I could figure it out. So I went to my old friend Google and asked, “how do I set up Doom 3 BFG coop?” Here’s what I found on co-optimus.com:
Back in June we told you that the upcoming re-release of DOOM 3 on 360, PS3 and PC would feature co-op play. Sadly it seems, because of some miscommunication between myself and PR that is not the case. The only co-op inside the BFG edition’s box comes from the XBLA versions of DOOM 1 and DOOM 2.
Really?!?! WTF is that? The originaL had online coop! And it straight up says there’s online coop on the back of the Doom 3 BFG box!!! I didn’t buy this game to play with myself, and although Doom and Doom 2 are fun blasts from the past, I could give two shits about them.
That said, I am not happy about the bullshit marketing with Doom 3 BFG and hope I can return it, but doubt I’ll have any luck. $40 down the drain. Fucking cock-suckers @ ID…
