Note: I have made Paladin Studios aware of this review and have been informed that they are currently working on improving Jimmy Pataya. Expect an updated version of this review when the next major version is released. When I first saw Jimmy Pataya, I was hyped for it. It looked pretty fucking awesome and therefore I thought I was going to love it, and yet I don’t. Note: This is a very short review. I’m pretty sure most, if not all of you have played Air Hockey before at an Arcade. It was pretty fun wasn’t it? Well, Glow Hockey 2 is a neon version of the traditional air hockey and I have to admit, it’s pretty awesome! There are three game play modes in Glow Hockey 2; Championship, Quick play and multiplayer. Lets start off in Championship mode. I was once hooked on Simon Says, I literally couldn’t get enough of it. So when I found Electron Zero, I was stoked. Consider Electron Zero, Simon Says 2.0(Note: I hate buzzwords but it’s appropriate in this case). Rather than having to press the corresponding button, you simply have to slide your finger across the screen in the same direction, complex huh? It really isn’t. In fact, I find this to be a major improvement on an already awesome formula. SPOILER ALERT: This game is fucking fantastic. Someones looking for a knife fight... and that someone looks like you Yakuza releases for me are like the equivalent of GTA releases for most people. So, I was pretty stoked to pick it up on its release date to say the least. Once again you take the role Kazuma; a former (bar none) yakuza badass. You’re giving the yakuza life the boot to start an orphanage in Okinawa (since you yourself were an orphan) with your adopted daughter. We soon find out that the land your orphanage is on is owned by the Ryudo Family (yakuza clan), and the boss of the clan is getting pressured by the government to sell the land for a Beach Resort. That, and when his friend Daigo (former member of the ex-clan you belonged too) are involved in assassination attempt; you once again find yourself in a series of gnar situations. more » I figured I would do a video review, so I could talk about this game that is sucking my free time while I suck down a White Russian. Enjoy! So I was cleaning the room the other day. I’ll spare you the gory details, but as I got to the entertainment center–slash general area that the trusty 360 resides–,I moved a game or two around. Dusted half assed, then decided napping would be a better idea. When I awoke from my slumber, I made a discovery… Holy Crap, I bought Left 4 Dead 2?!?! … (Shortly after I had a question pop into my still sleep addled mind) Am I the only one? Here is the story. Around Christmas time I was tooling around Amazon.com, Christmas shopping for the family and of course I ended up buying myself a game. I found Left for Dead 2 for 48 dollars with free shipping. Hell yeah! The game had only been out a couple weeks and it was already being discounted online. Partly because of Christmas deals, and/or partly because of the beast that is Modern Warfare 2 was released a week or so after L4D2 (or so I’m thinking). more »
